Paw Print Keepsakes in Busan: what to know
Two free tools help owners across Busan plan a print. The paw print kit chooser matches clay, ink, inkless and casting kits to your pet's size, coat and temperament, and the memorial budget planner shows what a print costs next to framing, engraving or jewelry. Use them before you call a provider, so you know what to ask for.
Getting a paw print in Busan works much the same everywhere: you take it yourself, your vet takes it, or the crematory takes it before cremation. What changes from place to place is how much choice you have. In the bigger cities there are in-home vets, emergency hospitals and local makers who turn prints into jewelry or art. In smaller towns, the local vet is usually the one moment to ask.

Burial, cremation and paw prints in Busan
When roughly 92.43%[1] of human funerals in Busan end in cremation, the whole system is built for speed, and pet aftercare often runs the same way. Collection can be booked for the same afternoon, and some crematories cremate within a day or two. That efficiency is a kindness, but it also shrinks the time in which a print can be taken. Ask how soon cremation will happen, and if it's quick, take the print yourself before collection.
We take the Busan percentage from Cremation Society of Great Britain, International Cremation Statistics 2023 (2023). It refers to people; attitudes to cremating a pet tend to follow it.
What owners in Busan typically pay for a print
Pet funeral providers across Asia usually sell packages, and some include a paw print, a fur clipping or a small keepsake. We haven't found reliable local prices for prints on their own. For context, a Tokyo memorial park charges JPY 22,000 for individual cremation of a pet under 5 kg[2]. Ask providers in Busan exactly what their package covers.
In Japan, by our estimate about 85% of owners who state a preference want an individual pet funeral rather than a joint one[3], and packages there often include keepsake options. Even communal cremation of a small pet at one Tokyo memorial park costs JPY 14,300[2]. Wherever you are in Asia, check with providers in Busan that a paw print is listed among the package contents, and ask to see an example.
| Place or item | Published price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo, individual cremation, pet under 5 kg | JPY 22,000[2] | Tax included; ask about a print |
| Singapore, private cremation, cat under 5 kg | SGD 280[4] | Niches extra |
| Hong Kong, individual cremation, 1 to 5 kg pet | HKD 1,300[5] | Basic package |
| Paw print add-on (US median, for comparison) | about $32[6] | No published local price found |

Landlords, parks and permits in Busan
Rules in Busan mostly cover the practical side of a pet's death: where a body can be buried, how deep, and where ashes may be scattered. None of it stops you taking a print. It's worth knowing, though, because a print set into a stone often goes where the burial or ashes go, and a landlord or homeowners' association can have its own say.
A short checklist for a clean print
- For a horse, have the farrier out beforehand to trim the hoof and tidy it up. Clean the sole thoroughly and let it dry.
- Press the hoof into a thick slab of clay resting on a board, or coat the sole in non-toxic paint and set it down on stiff card. Ask a helper to keep the leg still while you do it.
- Keep the last shoe and a length of tail or mane hair, since plenty of owners later have the hair plaited or cast in resin.
- For a bird or a very small pet, choose the softest clay or an inkless sheet, and barely press at all. Clay picks up tiny toes best.
- For a fluffy cat or rabbit, go inkless so nothing ends up on fur they'll wash later; for rabbits especially, clay captures the long, narrow foot well.
- Dry and store every print indoors, and photograph it so a maker can work from the image.
Shelf, wall or garden: where the print ends up
Some families bring the print out once a year, on the anniversary or on the day their pet came home, and add something new: a photo, a pressed flower, a note from each person. Over time the box or frame becomes a record of how the family carried the memory. If an anniversary hits harder than expected, you're not alone; in RSPCA research on pet loss, 66.9%[7] of owners were surprised by how intense their grief was.

Questions people ask
Where can I get a paw print keepsake in Busan?
Across Busan, most vets, in-home euthanasia vets and pet crematories can take a clay or ink paw print, usually before cremation. You can also take one yourself at home with a kit. For jewelry, engraving or art, local makers and online studios both work from a clear print or a scan. Ask for the print when you book aftercare, not afterwards.
What do other owners in Busan choose for a paw print keepsake?
We don't publish made-up figures on that. We do run short, anonymous polls on what readers chose, from clay discs to engraved jewelry, and you can see the live results. They count one vote per person and aren't a scientific survey, but they give a feel for how other owners decided.
Can my vet in Busan take a paw print before cremation?
Almost always, if you ask in time. Mention it when you book the appointment or the cremation, ask for it on the aftercare form and ask to see it before your pet leaves. If the vet can't, the crematory can usually take one at intake. After cremation, it's too late.
Can children help make a paw print?
Often, yes, and many find it helps. Let them roll the clay, pick the frame or add their own handprint next to the paw. When the print is made after death, a vet or another adult can take it privately and show them the result. There are age-by-age ideas in our children's print-making guide.
Should I take a print of my senior pet now?
If you can, yes. A relaxed, living pet usually gives the crispest print, and there's no time pressure. Choose a calm, good day, after a meal or a walk, and take several so you can keep the clearest. Many owners in Busan say the afternoon itself becomes a memory.
How much does a paw print cost in Busan?
Published prices for prints alone are scarce, because most are sold within a cremation package or quoted on request. As a benchmark, a US crematory network lists a clay paw print at $76[8], and a UK studio casts a small dog's paw in resin from about £120[9]. Ask local providers for a written price.
